Well, I'm sitting here waiting for the sales guy that I have been trying to get in touch with for about 2 months is supposed to call me back. I'm not holding my breath, but I know as soon as I leave to go to the bathroom or something he is going to call. Although there is a sink in my lab. hmmmm...
Did I tell you guys I moved desks? I used to be in this cubicle that was stuck in the middle of a hallway in between offices and had previosly been occupied by an admin so thats what some people thought I was for awhile :). But then some people moved to a different building so now I have a desk in a lab that is all mine! complete with door and everything! I did lose my window to the parking lot, but I think I am managing.
Ummm...what else. I actually have plans for this weekend out here. I think I am going into Oakland on Friday night and meeting up with one of Kathleen's friends who lives there. Saturday I am going to Berkeley to get a tour (and to go shopping) from one of the girls I met last weekend. and on Sunday I am not sure but I might drive to the boardwalk in Santa Cruz and go on the old wooden roller coaster and eat some corndogs and cotton candy. that's pretty much it!
45 minutes! Is this too long to wait? boo.

Hello??!! Slacker bloggers where are you?! I mean didn't you get back yesterday, Nancy?
Just kidding! I hope that everyone is doing well. I had quite an interesting weekend. We drove to Yosemite straight from work on Friday, but we didn't start hiking in until 7:30, so needless to say it got dark in the middle of our hike. Hiking in the dark can be dangerous! We had to carry all of our food and scented items in big black bear canisters and leave them about 100 feet from the tents just in case. Well, it was good we did because bears went through our bags and food and one took a bit out of a can of Off! One of the (stupid) guys in my tent decided he was hungry in the middle of the night and went to get a sandwich and saw 2 bears and ran back into the tent. I had to pee so bad but was too scared to go outside!
Other than that the worst animal we encountered were mosquitos and California people are big wimps when it comes to bugs!! There are hardly any bugs out here normally, but the park gets them alot. I'm like, what's summer without a few big bites?
Anyways, we went a total of about 20 miles and I am one sore girl tonight. The hike itself was bad enough, but worse with all the stuff on my shoulders, but it was beautiful and challenging and I'm glad that I pushed myself to go. I did better than I thought I would do.
The good news is that I get to come home in less that 2 weeks! and ready to party for katie's bday! I'm thinking about a theme party-fiesta? luau? what do you guys think? If we don't want to go out to a big dinner then we should make one! who's up for roasting a pig?!
